Reconstructive options:
Through collaboration with your prosthodontist, guided implant placement can be done at the time of the reconstruction procedure.
Using intraoral scans and CT data your engineer will plan the post-operative position of the graft and position of the dental implants with the desired occlusion in mind.
For mandible reconstruction, patient specific fibula surgical guides with guided dental implant sleeves allow placement with restorative driven planning outcomes. All major dental brands can be planned in our software.
If required, an immediate provisional prostheses can be designed with our local partnered dental labs for fitment during the procedure.
Our fibula cutting guides are created by defining the resection margins and our engineers virtually project the donor region onto the recipient region. The graft is placed in the best possible position for functional and restorative considerations. Vascular supply and the planning of the vascular pedicle is incorporated into the plan at this stage.
One the position is finalised and approved our team will design drilling and marking guides.
If dental implant placement is desired the implant positions and planned occlusion is combined within the designs of the cutting guide.
The custom guide designs one reviewed are manufactured in our Melbourne facility and shipped to your hospital. Local manufacturing allows a 3-5 day turnaround from surgeon approval.
For smaller defects Iliac crest cutting guides can be designed with our engineering team.
